Why this works legally

Florida authorizes Remote Online Notarization under Chapter 117, Part II of the Florida Statutes. The notarization is performed by a commissioned Florida online notary over secure audio-video with identity verification, and it carries the same legal effect as an in-person notarization. Documents notarized this way are generally accepted throughout the United States — and if the document later needs to be used abroad, it can be apostilled by the Florida Secretary of State.

What you need for a same-day session

2. A valid government-issued photo ID for each signer.
3. A device with camera and microphone — laptop or phone.
4. About 15 minutes of the signer's time.

One honest caveat: "same day" refers to the notarization session. If your document also needs an apostille, the state's processing time applies — that part gets a realistic estimate upfront, never a fake guarantee.
